Iwade Colts Speedway Team is the new venture of Terry Meech Speedway(TMS) after the leases ran out on their Two previous teams, Broadstairs Bulldogs and Birchington Bears, with both sites now due for redevelopment.
With help from the local council TMS have refurbished the Old Gun Site Stadium in Iwade and the project has passed all of the required inspections and with the track re-laid it is all systems go for the Grand Opening in time for the New Season of Sovereign Speedway.
Iwade will contest Division 3 of the Sovereign League and all of the management team are waiting with baited breath to see which riders will be allocated to the Colts. It has been decided that the main aim in the first season will be to build up the facilities for both riders and fans alike with the team slowly developing over a period of time and to this end the Colts will be open to offers for any of their riders providing the deal is in the best interests of the Team and Rider concerned.
Iwade will be looking for a Sponser to help them to raise the funds needed to make improvements to the Old Gun Site to make it a comfortable and safe venue for all. Speedway is a family sport where rival fans stand toe o toe in their enjoyment of the sport.
