IWADE V PETERBOROUGH PIRATES
Henri Myllyneimi makes a quick return to Old Gun Road after his Pre-Season transfer to Peterborough as the Colts entertain the Pirates for their first ever match at the new stadium.
Iwade are expecting a bumper crowd to welcome the 1st Division out fit who also splashed out a further 200k on 3 pointers Adam Moore and Adrian Moody in the closed season. Peterborough have not yet finalised their top 7 and it will be interesting who they pick for what could be a tricky match for them and with P.C. in our line-up this could prove a big test for their Heat Leaders.
PRE-SEASON CHALLENGE MATCH 2
BEVERLEY HAMMERS V IWADE
Beverley were unlucky not to be promotion to Division 1 at the end of last season and some experts would argue that in the final weeks of last term the hammers were the best team in the Second Division!
So far they have been quiet in the Transfer market and have only added Ales Pokorny, on loan, from Brickhill and the Unattached Sean Clay to last season's squad. The colts should prove a good test for the hammers first Home meeting of the new season. The outcome of the this meeting could come down to both sets of 3.00 pointers who will be filling the reserve race-jackets.
PRE-SEASON CHALLENGE MATCH 3
IWADE V TORBAY TIGERS
The Colts will be looking to redeem themselves when Torbay Tigers come calling after their Home defeat last week. The Tigers haven't settled on their final team yet, so the Iwade management will have to see what team the Tigers select. However, after the International Challenge match between Slovakia and Hungary he Magyars and Colts manager, Terry Meech, will have an idea of the form of Adamcik, Szucs and Pinte.
This fixture should be a good siter for both of these teams in respect of the new season ahead.
PRE-SEASON MATCH 4
VERWOOD V IWADE
Tickets were hard to come by just after this fixture was announced as fans from all over were keen to see the clash between Verwood's Number 1, Kenny Dornan and the World Number 2, Peter Carl, who is on loan to Iwade this season
As far as the Vipers are concerned this will be Dornan's best challenge to see how he might fair in the top division, before the action starts! This will also be a good test for Verwood's new signings, Nota Gyorok & Miloslav Dorosh.
No doubt the Vipers will prove to be another tough teat for the Colts and by fielding their Top 7 they should have more of an idea where they stand in the Division 3 pecking order.
PRE-SEASON MATCH 5
IWADE V LEEDS
Leeds provide the final pre-season challenge at Home for the Colts. After a disappointing time, by their standards, last term the Colts have been busy in the Transfer Market and secured the services of former Broadstairs favourite, Simone Alidori and experienced New Zealander Blair Wright to lead them into SL21.
Although they have had an indifferent start the Jaguars will prove to be a tough test for the Colts, who themselves haven't torn up ant tress in their opening matches.
However, Old Gun Road should be packed to the rafters as Leeds have the biggest fan base of all the clubs in Sovereign.
PRE-SEASON MATCH 6
KELSO V IWADE
For their last outing of the pre-season campaign Iwade make the long trek to Kelso, who are newly promoted to Division 2.
The Kestrels have made four changes from last season which sees, Christoph Algner, Joe Johnson, Andrew Waters and Vili Balagic in Kelso colours.
This fixture should, more than the other five, give the Colts management an idea of where the team are in respect of the start of the 3rd Division campaign.
3rd DIVISION LEAGUE MATCH 1
COVENTRY V IWADE
Fellow newcomers, Coventry Wildcats, provide the Colts with their first opposition as they start their campaign in the 3rd Division of the Sovereign S-League.
The Home side have been very busy in the transfer market during the pre-season and are led by ex Broadstairs and Birchington favourite Istvan Hanak, who is on loan from Cradley Heath. The Wildcats look to be a solid outfit from 1-7 without a standout performer and will prove a real teat for the Colts who themselves will be looking to improve on a disappointing pre-season campaign.
In particular the Iwade management will be keeping a close eye on the out of form pair of Ollie Roodenburg and Dale Woodward.
3rd DIVISION LEAGUE MATCH 2
Earley by name and Earley by nature as they provide the Colts with their first Home League fixture ever and although they are newbies themselves they are regarding as promotion contenders by the Home management team.
In Gavin Moss they have one of the top three riders in this Division and with the late addition of the on loan Rob Barron plus the addition of a very experienced Promoter they pose a real threat at this level.
There is no doubt that this will be a tough test of the Colts Home form which was far from impressive in the Challenge matches, but should provide the fans with a real seat of their pants night!
3rd DIVISION CUP 1ST ROUND GROUP A
IWADE V DEVON
The Colts continue their run of tough Home fixtures at the start of season as they entertain yet another team who are promotion contenders in the shapes of the Devon Demons!
Most Demon fans were delighted with the new additions purchased in the close and are looking forward to an exciting and successful season under the leadership of Aljosa Hadzc, who is back for another season.
As for the Colts it is always essential to win your Home fixtures in the League Cup Group matches and they will need to dig in and fight against potentially dangerous opponents.
3rd DIVISION LEAGUE MATCH 3
IWADE V BROCKMOOR
This week the Colts entertain Brockmoor Bulls and it will be interesting to see how the Colts riders adapt to a team which is solid from 1-7 without having power packed set of Heat Leaders, although Alan Clark can be very dangerous on his day.
With Ryan Palin missing from the Iwade line-up the two reserves will have a tough time of it so the reliance will lie with the top 5.
3rd DIVISION LEAGUE MATCH 4
GLENHOLT V IWADE
Iwade travel down to Glenholt for their second away league match of the season where the fans should be treated to one of the match-ups of the season as Peter carl takes on Matt Mapp with both riders sitting at the top of the averages this should be a classic encounter and may be the key to the final result.
The much changed Knights looked a really good outfit in their opening two league matches and will be hoping to continue their fine Home form against the depleted colts.
3rd DIVISION CUP 1ST ROUND GROUP A
KESWICK V IWADE
On paper this always looked to be Iwade's toughest task in their group of the 3rd Divisional Cup against the Crusaders heavy hitting top 4 and therefore Peter Carl, Johnny Fox and Dale Woodward will have to be at their best to counter the threat the home quartet pose.
This could well be a case of damage limitation for the visitors as the first round in both Group A & Group B proved to be bankers for the Home sides, which included the Colts!
3rd DIVISION LEAGUE MATCH 5
DEVON V IWADE
These two teams were predicted as top of the table, come the end of season and this fixture presents an early chance for them to suss each other out. Devon will be hoping to benefit from Iwade's loss of Ryan Palin as their Number 6, Lee Morris, is flying at the moment. Much will depend on the Demons top four's ability to cope with the Colts top two combination of Peter carl and Jonathan fox. As far as the visitors are concerned this week's League matches are all about damage limitation whilst they await the arrival of Tas Bard from Canvey.
3rd DIVISION MATCH 6
IWADE V DERBY
Iwade will be very wary of the 2nd placed Derby after the Colts suffered a surprise Home defeat last week!
The Visitors look to be a very solid unit and are very experienced with the likes of Wohlfarht, Beacham and Barnard in their line-up. On the flip-side they also have two exciting young talents at reserve in Ben Coulson and Ashley Power.
As such Peter Carl and the rest of the Colts will have to be at their very best to prevent Iwade conceding another Home League match.
3rd DIVISION CUP GROUP A
IWADE V CANVEY
This is a must win match as far as the Colts are concerned if they wish to progress further in this competition. Canvey currently lead Group A having won their opening fixture convincingly. The Colts are just behind them, but have ridden two matches and a defeat here will make qualification very difficult. As per usual the visitors will rely heavily on their American Number 1, Bill Foster, and the Iwade fans will be looking with interest at the Cruisers young reserve, Cvetko Greiwe, who has started the season in tremendous form.
All in all this should be a match to savour. Although, strange to say that by the completion of the meeting Canvey's young Hungarian, Tas Bard, would have completed his much touted transfer to Iwade. Tas has some hard work ahead of him as he tries to increase his current average of 4.48to above 5.00 by the end of the current campaign in order to prevent himself from possibly losing his work permit.
3rd DIVUSION LEAGUE MATCH_WEEK 7
IWADE V NEWPORT
The Welsh side have had a somewhat slow start to their season so far and it is fair to say that the Exiles side will show quite a few changes by the two teams meet again.
The visitors management will no doubt be looking to their young Russian reserve, Oksana Chaplinski, to exploit the Colts continuing weakness at reserve due to thr continued absence of Ryan Palin. Iwade will be looking to dale Woodward and Alex Komljenovic to keep up with their run of good form. Ollie Roodenburg will need to find some form as his place will no doubt come under threat in future weeks from both the returning Ryan Palin and the arrival of Tas Bard.
3rd DIVISION LEAGUE MATCH WEEK 8
KESWICK V IWADE
It will be interesting to see if the Crusaders have the finances to dip into the Thansfer Market, which they may need to do as regard strengthening their second string options. having said all that, they are unbeaten at Home on the League and it will require all the Colts to be at their very bestto come away from Keswick with any points their pockets!
