ROUND UP
What a start to the SL21 3rd Division Season which saw every team finish with 2 points on the board, a double maximum from Peter Carl and Track Records broken at Keswick and Newport!!
With no away wins in the first two weeks of League competition, which leaves all teams on equal points I think a lot of predictions for the third division have already turned to dust. Biggest winners, in the opening weeks, were Canvey with a whopping great 61 points at Home to Newport, but their happiness was cut short by the news that Number 1, Bill Foster, has a trapped nerve in his back, which will see him out of action for two weeks.
Iwade were another team with Good/Bad news! The good being Peter Carl remaining unbeaten in the League after maximums against Coventry and Earley. The bad was that on Loan reserve, Ryan Palin will be out for six weeks with a broken wrist!
One meeting was all it took for the Crusaders own Stuart Murphy to break the Keswick track record and not to be out done Matt Mapp went to Newport and lowered their best time. Three teams managed 43 points away and they were Canvey, Devon and Derby, with the afore mentioned Cruisers currently top of the table courtesy of their big Home win.
Meanwhile, the Home winning sequence continued in both Divisional Cup Groups, which saw comfortable wins for Canvey& Iwade in Group A and Coventry & Derby in Group B.
Ryan Palin loses it at Old Gun Road
