The Iwade management arranged a 7 rider Challenge Match with their counterparts at The Trelawny Training Track in order to give all of their Academy team a chance to gain some match practice before the start of their season.

It proved to be a good test for thr youngsters and it took a 4-2 in the final heat to secure the win for Iwade. It took Ryan Palin a couple of rides to dial into the conditions, which were grippy, but he then won his three remaining races. Garry Bowman also had a good meeting with three wins and young apprentice, Tom Hollis, won his first ever race in public and could have scored more than 4 points had he not had a tape infringement he his last ride of the night.

All in all it was a good night's entertainment for the local fans who turned out and were rewarded with free entry.  The racing ended with some of the first team riders having a spin round the track.

The young Colts proved to strong in both legs of this Academy  League encounter with the Claygate Bears!

Ryan Palin over both legs and will be sorely missed as he sits out the next three matches due to injury. This will mean that Iwade's 15 year old Apprentice, Tom Hollis, will have to step up as the club now only have six qualified Academy League riders who are fit. On the brighter side the Colt's management team were very happy with the form of 18 year old Garry Bowman, which has been rewarded with a reserve spot in the senior side to replace the ailing Paling! Lee Nutter was another to get his Iwade Academy League career off to a good start.

As for Claygate,  although Nathan Rose top scored for them at Old Gun Road, it was the Home performance from the Bears Number 1, Jason Silvestri that stood out for them.
